Dedicated to creating performance opportunities for talented dancers and choreographers and to providing high quality live dance performances for audiences near and far.

Bangor Ballet offers high-quality productions, with an emphasis on classical ballet. The repertoire includes 19th and 20th century ballet classics and family-friendly story ballets. Company members train under Ivy Clear-Forrest at Thomas School of Dance, the company’s official training school. Bangor Ballet’s performing home in Bangor is the Gracie Theatre at Husson University.

The 2015-2016 company consists of 21 talented and dedicated members and 6 apprentices representing more than 15 Maine communities. These young women and men train during the week and rehearse on weekends. Many company members attend prestigious summer programs offered by Ballet Chicago, Miami Ballet, School of American Ballet, the Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and others.

Open auditions are held for the company’s major productions each season. Talented dancers from all area studios are encouraged to audition and may become company members.
